About The Position

This position is for a Respiratory Therapist Lead at Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) in Phoenix, AZ. Daily tasks include assessing respiratory status, implementing treatment plans (oxygen, ventilation, airway management), educating patients and families, documenting interventions, and collaborating with physicians and medical staff. Requirements

• High School Graduate General Studies
• High School GED General Studies
• Graduate of an AMA Respiratory Therapy Program
• Three (3) years ICU experience
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: AZ
• Registered Respiratory Therapist
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR

Responsibilities

• Performs all ranges of respiratory care in a critical care environment including utilization of advanced modes of invasive and non-invasive ventilation and emergency respiratory care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the hospital and departmental practices regarding national Patient Safety Goals, hand hygiene, AIDET, teach back, etc.
• Distributes work assignments evenly and according to skill set and patient acuity.
• Coordinates workflow and adjusts assignments in order to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care.
• Assists in monitoring productivity.
• Acts as a clinical resource and mentor for staff.
• Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
