About The Position

As our Respiratory Therapist, you will provide essential direct patient care, assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory disorders. Your role is vital for improving patient outcomes. Every day you will assess respiratory status, implement treatment plans (oxygen, ventilation, airway management), and educate patients/families. You'll document interventions and collaborate with physicians and medical staff. To be successful, you will demonstrate strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and equipment proficiency. Excellent communication for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration, plus a commitment to safety and continuous development, are essential. Performs all ranges of respiratory care in a critical care environment including utilization of advanced modes of invasive and non-invasive ventilation and emergency respiratory care. Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the hospital and departmental practices regarding national Patient Safety Goals, hand hygiene, AIDET, teach back, etc. Distributes work assignments evenly and according to skill set and patient acuity. Coordinates workflow and adjusts assignments in order to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care. Assists in monitoring productivity. Acts as a clinical resource and mentor for staff. Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies or High School GED General Studies
  • Graduate of an AMA Respiratory Therapy Program
  • Three (3) years ICU experience
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner: AZ Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR
