Respiratory Therapy Temp Assignment
About The Position
The Respiratory Care Practitioner plans, executes, and evaluates respiratory care for assigned patients. The practitioner uses current evidence-based practices and tailors care to patients’ physiological, psychosocial, and cultural needs. Working under the direction of the leadership team, the practitioner provides respiratory services in accordance with Riverside Health System standards of excellence and facility goals and strategic plans. The role supports safe practices referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals and best practices recommended by the American Association of Respiratory Care. This is a temporary assignment in Newport News, Virginia. The hiring range is $45.00–$85.00 per hour; actual pay is determined by temporary commitment and business needs.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field (required), or a bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field (preferred).
- Two years of Respiratory Therapy experience (required).
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the Virginia Department of Health Professions upon hire (required).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) upon hire (required).
- CPR/BLS certification upon hire (required).
- ACLS Provider certification upon hire (required).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, implement, and evaluate treatments and procedures that contribute to the Respiratory Care Plan.
- Complete documentation and ensure orders are current, completed, or discontinued.
- Participate in and assist with meetings, projects, and in-services related to improving RHS Respiratory Care Services.
- Use proper infection control techniques in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Work with physicians and nurses to create treatment plans.
- Evaluate treatment progress.
