Resource Teacher
About The Position
HealthPRO Pediatrics is hiring a full-time, on-site, school-based Resource Teacher in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The position supports students with individualized academic and learning needs, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and make academic progress. The teacher works with school staff and families, conducts screenings and evaluations, participates in the IEP process, provides special education sessions according to prescribed IEP services, and maintains required district documentation. The role is part of a collaborative pediatric team and includes ongoing team support, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities.
Requirements
- Hold a current license to practice in the state of Colorado.
- Have successful experience working with culturally diverse families.
- Assume responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Consult and collaborate with school staff and families regarding students’ educational deficits.
- Conduct initial screenings and comprehensive evaluations.
- Participate in the IEP process by developing present levels of performance, goals and objectives, and treatment recommendations for students who qualify for Special Education services.
- Provide Special Education sessions using current best practices and the services prescribed in each student’s IEP.
- Maintain district-required documentation, including notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEPs.
