About The Position
As a Residential Specialist, you will provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a home environment. Using a person-centered approach, you will empower clients to participate in daily life, make choices, and gain independence. The role includes hands-on support with personal care and household activities, encouragement toward personal goals, and helping create a safe, respectful, and engaging home environment. The position is located in Chula Vista and pays $20.00 to $20.65 per hour. The posting gives conflicting schedules: the title states Thursday–Saturday, 3 p.m.–11 p.m., while the schedule section states Friday–Saturday, 3 p.m.–11 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six months of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Valid California driver's license, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
- Compassionate and genuinely interested in helping others.
- Adaptability and comfort working with diverse individuals in different situations.
- Teamwork, strong communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Responsibility, reliability, and pride in creating a positive environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience using case management systems; Therap is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, person-centered care in a residential setting.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, eating, cooking, cleaning, dressing and undressing, mobility, and personal organization.
