Requirements

  • Proven experience in general maintenance, construction, or property management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items up to 125-200 pounds safely and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with maintenance tracking software is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the general maintenance of all agency-owned residential properties.
  • Prepare apartments for new or relocating residents, which involves moving furniture, appliances, and supplies-often requiring heavy lifting.
  • Perform a wide range of routine maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, plumbing, electrical work, and cabinet installation.
  • Support the rest of the team with more extensive repairs and renovation projects, including kitchen and bathroom demolition and rehabilitation.
  • Install and repair various types of flooring-such as ceramic tile, VCT, and vinyl.
  • Troubleshoot and address appliance issues.
  • Repair or replace windows, doors, and door locks.
  • Complete both minor and major building repairs inside and out, including work up to two stories high.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and perform preventative maintenance to address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Collaborate with outside contractors and coordinate their work with internal standards and schedules.
  • Use maintenance management software to track work orders and maintain accurate records of materials and expenses, including purchases made with agency credit cards.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support overall operations.
