Maintenance Worker (Residential Garbage)

About The Position
This position is responsible for collecting refuse, yard waste, and other materials along a predetermined route. The worker assists with refuse or recycling truck operations, vehicle and equipment cleaning and maintenance, and pre- and post-trip safety inspections. The position also performs related duties.
Requirements
- Knowledge of city streets.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push heavy objects.
- No experience requirements.
Responsibilities
- Collect refuse, yard waste, and other materials along a predetermined route.
- Assist in operating the refuse or recycling truck as assigned.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Assist in performing pre- and post-trip equipment safety inspections.
- Perform related duties.
