About The Position

This full-time Youth Counselor role provides direct care and support to male youth ages 12–17. The counselor provides structure, encouragement, accountability, and support, helps youth through challenging moments, teaches life skills, celebrates successes, and builds relationships intended to make a lasting difference. The position is based at the Independence Campus in Independence, Iowa, and is listed as second shift, with no travel required.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Have a desire to help children succeed.
• Have strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Have basic computer skills in an MS Office environment.

Nice To Haves

• A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services-related field of study.
• Prior experience working with children in a school or mental health setting.
