In a developmental center, under the Department of Developmental Disabilities, for at least one module, cottage, house, multiple living area or residential building, on at least one assigned shift, this role supervises direct care personnel. The position involves serving as a team member for policy development and implementation of work rules, ensuring compliance with Medicaid standards and labor contract rules, and resolving labor disputes at the first step level. The supervisor refers employees to the Employee Assistance Program Coordinator and is responsible for staff training and in-servicing on new policies, procedures, and regulations. This role monitors the implementation of Individual Habilitation Plans for individuals with developmental disabilities to ensure they are followed and completed. Additionally, the supervisor completes and signs employee performance evaluations and ensures direct care staff attend team meetings to develop or revise Individual Habilitation Plans for assigned residents. The role also ensures adequate staff coverage by scheduling and assigning relief staff, part-time staff, and overtime staff, maintaining required minimum staff coverage, aligning relief staff by seniority, and completing payroll, overtime, and daily employee work schedules. The supervisor reviews written documentation regarding resident behavior, response, and progress related to their Individual Habilitation Plan, including 30-day/90-day and annual reviews, unusual incident reports, client funds, use of restraints, and Medicaid surveys. They also review requests for clothing purchases, actual purchases, or assign these tasks to direct care staff. The supervisor reviews and processes staff incident reports, determines if additional action is needed, checks staff log books for completeness, and is responsible for written documentation regarding assigned residents and checking staff time and attendance. The role includes participating in Individual Habilitation Program/Plan meetings, attending unit managers' meetings, reviewing restraint records for proper procedure adherence, completing census reports, investigating and reporting major incidents, ensuring staff compliance with treatment habilitation plans, and relieving supervisors of other units upon request. The supervisor also maintains supplies and acquires necessary equipment.
