About The Position

NAYA Family Center is looking for a passionate and dedicated Resident Services Coordinator to support residents and families in Portland’s Cully neighborhood. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact by assisting individuals who have experienced unstable housing, promoting community-building, and connecting residents with vital resources. This position will involve spending time at various affordable housing sites in Portland's Cully neighborhood.

This is a full-time role with work hours of 9 am to 6 pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required based on project needs.

The hourly rate for this position is $26 to $27/hour.

Requirements

• You have at least two years of relevant experience in housing services, social work, or community engagement.
• You are a compassionate and proactive advocate with experience working alongside diverse communities, particularly those affected by housing insecurity.
• You understand the systemic challenges contributing to homelessness and are committed to addressing them through direct service, relationship-building, and culturally responsive support.
• You are skilled in resource coordination, supporting youth and families access essential services.
• You have knowledge of local community resources, emergency services, and social service agencies, focused on low-income and BIPOC community required.
• You enjoy building relationships with community partners and organizations to ensure housing stability.
• Your ability to balance empathy with professionalism ensures families receive the support they need to thrive.
• You thrive in a team-oriented workplace, are adaptable, and are willing to roll up your sleeves and pitch in, even when it’s not your job.
• You possess strong communication and trauma informed approaches, engaging effectively with diverse groups and adapting to varied contexts.
• You demonstrate self-awareness, listening deeply, centering others, and taking accountability for your actions.
• You are consistently punctual, reliable, and dependable in support of your team and clients.
• You are proficient in computer skills, including web-based research, word processing, MS Excel, and email.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Native American history, an understanding of the diversity of the local Indigenous/Alaska Native community and issues surrounding the Urban Indian experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach efforts to new residents, introducing them to NAYA's services and programs.
• Assess resident service and support needs to sustain stable housing.
• Help residents find permanent housing, and connecting them with helpful resources.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with landlords, property managers, and service providers to ensure a positive living environment.
• Assess the needs of the residents and organize/implement on-site events which focus on cultural arts, health and wellness, youth engagement and other activities aimed at creating a strong, safe, and healthy community.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, track participant progress, and ensure compliance with agency and funding requirements.
• Input data and maintain NAYA and/or contractually required information database systems to track participant information, database examples include but are not limited to Efforts to Outcome (ETO) always adhering to confidentiality requirements.
• Actively collaborate with NAYA’s housing team and broader service network to coordinate holistic support for families.
• Support residents to access community resources, as well as connect them to NAYA’s wraparound services.
• Represent NAYA professionally in community partnerships, meetings, and advocacy efforts.
