About The Position

Valley Hospital Medical Center, a teaching hospital with graduate medical education, a new pharmacy residency program, and over 600 multidisciplinary clerkships and internships offered annually, focuses on the use of evidence-based medicine and the importance of following clinical pathways that research has shown to be effective with most patients. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy in the United States (or one in process of pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
  • Knowledge of hospital based information system, reporting features, Microsoft Office and Pyxis technology.
  • Current Pharmacist license in the State of Nevada (obtained within 90 days of starting residency).
  • A current Pharmacy Intern license in the State of Nevada must be maintained during the interim.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting residency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services through drug distribution and clinical services, medication order verification and filling and staff education.
  • Complete the hospital’s pharmacy residency training program that is designed to meet the guidelines and accreditation standards of ASHP.
