About The Position

Through our adult day services and our independent, assisted, and enhanced assisted living options, we offer an unparalleled solution to the evolving needs of our community. As a Resident Aide, you will support residents to thrive in an environment that ensures their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role offers a chance to take the next steps in your healthcare career through a compassionate approach, working closely with residents, families, and the healthcare team. You will assist with daily personal care, encourage resident participation in social and recreational activities, and monitor residents with personal care needs as indicated in their service plan. You will also document resident care notes, assist residents to and from the dining room, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and respond promptly to the call bell system and complete safety rounds. This role offers a great opportunity for Resident Aides who are passionate about providing exceptional care and want to take the next step in their career. Team members who demonstrate patience, a compassionate approach, initiative, and a desire to learn may be eligible for training to assist with medications.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • One (1) year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a medical or healthcare setting
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and with empathy to build rapport and achieve high quality of care with resident, families, co-workers, and other medical professionals
  • Able to push, pull, lift, and carry trays of food, laundry bags, heavy boxes, and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, frequently bending, stooping, and reaching
  • Satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical, including a tuberculin skin test or blood assay

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Aide (PCA) experience is highly preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience will be considered but is not required
  • Experience with older adults is preferred
  • Willingness to complete medication assistance training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support residents of Longview to thrive in an environment to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being
  • Assist with daily personal care as well as encouraging resident participation in social and recreational activities
  • Assist and monitor residents with personal care such as bathing, dressing, incontinent care, laundry, and daily living activities as indicated in their service plan which includes physical and emotional wellbeing
  • Document resident care notes
  • Assist residents to and from the dining room
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and quality of care
  • Respond promptly to call bell system and complete safety rounds
