About The Position

Otterbein is seeking compassionate Assisted Living Resident Assistants to help residents with Activities of Daily Living and support person-centered care that respects each resident and their choices. The role is based in a community campus setting and involves working collaboratively with the care team to provide residents with positive daily experiences. Resident Assistants work under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge. The posting lists part-time, full-time, and PRN openings, with openings on all shifts.

Requirements

• First Aid course certification.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide encouragement and high-quality care in a cheerful and timely manner.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, including oral care, toileting, bathing, incontinence care, and dressing, as needed and in a caring, supportive manner.
• Provide supervision, cueing, or other non-weight-bearing assistance related to transfers and ambulation, as needed.
• Safely roll carts, laundry hampers, and other equipment through work and resident areas.
• Communicate, coordinate, and cooperate with resident needs and team structure.
• Work as part of a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge.
• Respond quickly to emergency calls from Independent Living residents as directed by the nurse in charge.
