About The Position

Otterbein is seeking compassionate Assisted Living Resident Assistants to support residents with Activities of Daily Living in an active campus community. The role focuses on providing person-centered care that respects each resident and their choices, while working collaboratively with the team to create positive life experiences. The position is listed as part-time, 2nd shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and PRN.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• First Aid Course certification.
• Previous experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide encouragement and high-quality care in a cheerful and timely manner.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, including oral care, toileting, bathing, incontinence care, and dressing, as needed and in a caring, supportive manner.
• Provide supervision, cueing, or other non-weight-bearing assistance related to transfers and ambulation as needed.
• Safely move carts, laundry hampers, and other equipment through work and resident areas.
• Communicate, coordinate, and cooperate with resident needs and team structure.
• Work as a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge.
• Respond quickly to emergency calls from Independent Living residents as directed by the nurse in charge.
