About The Position

The residency program is essential to the academic mission of the School of Health Professions and ensures UTSW remains a leader in Prosthetic-Orthotic education. Residency training is a requirement for Prosthetics-Orthotics graduates' certification. Prosthetics-Orthotics residents provide direct patient care and fabrication under the supervision of a P-O clinician. This involves seeing patients in outpatient clinics and University hospitals. Residents also increase the volume of patients that can be served in the Prosthetics-Orthotics clinic.

Requirements

  • Must have graduated from an NCOPE-accredited program with a Master’s degree in prosthetics-orthotics
  • Selected applicants will need to apply for a Texas license upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provided direct patient care and fabrication under the supervision of a certified prosthetist-orthotics in outpatient and hospital settings.
  • Fabrication and timely documentation.
  • Assist in research projects for the program.
  • Fulfill NCOPE residency requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
