About The Position

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Manager, Orthotics & Prostetics to join our team. The pay range for this position is $82,825 annually to $141,980 annually. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Orthotics and Prosthetics OR Bachelor's Degree with ABC approved Orthotic and Prosthetic certificate program and the successful completion of NCOPE residencies in both O&P OR Masters in Prosthetics & Orthotics
  • Current American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics required
  • Current Minnesota licensure
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Card Certification required
  • Minimum three year of Clinical and technical experience in Orthotics and Prosthetics field is required
  • Five years of experience working in a hospital or medical office with insurance authorization is required

Responsibilities

  • Planning, directing, and managing the day-to-day activities of assigned staff
  • Assuring provisions of quality orthotic/prosthetic devices are in accordance with Physician's prescription
  • Acting as a resource to staff, patients, families and the general public regarding assigned areas of responsibility
  • Planning, directing and managing the work of the O&P Technician staff, and Department Assistant staff on all day-to-day department operations
  • Establishing workflow and communication with Fabrication Center (east and west) for all custom fabrication to endure safety and quality of all devices provided to patients
  • Obtaining and maintaining ABC facility accreditation
  • Demonstrating proficiency in OPIE (O&P Business Management Software)
  • Functioning independently to fulfill the professional responsibilities of a certified Prosthetist and/or Orthotist, including patient confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned
