About The Position

The Resident Care Assistant provides essential daily care and companionship to residents, helping create a warm and welcoming environment. The position is in Assisted Living at Chelsea Retirement Community, Glazier Commons, in Chelsea, Michigan. This is a full-time role scheduled for 40 hours per week, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with required weekend and holiday rotation and no scheduling mandation. Shift premiums are listed for evening, overnight, and weekend hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry at least 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a direct caregiving role.
• Previous working knowledge of an Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) system.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Assist residents at mealtimes and support hydration.
• Support resident mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake and output.
• Keep residents’ rooms tidy, comfortable, and stocked with essentials.
• Respond promptly and compassionately to call lights.
• Report changes in residents’ conditions to leadership as soon as possible.
• Maintain confidentiality and deliver care respectfully and professionally.
