Modern Family Law is seeking 3Ls and recent graduates who are sitting for the February 2027 or July 2027 Washington Bar exam to join MFL Academy’s Residency Program in a Washington office in Seattle, Bellevue, or Everett. The role is hybrid, and candidates must plan to reside in Washington and sit for the Washington Bar exam; score transfers are not accepted. After sitting for the Bar exam, residents receive training in substantive family law and courtroom advocacy, along with mentorship from the Learning & Development department and legal teams. The program is intended to support a successful transition to an Associate Attorney position upon passing the Bar. Residents are expected to complete training, develop client-conversion skills, and prepare to handle client matters from start to finish. The Associate Attorney role includes direct client contact and case management on family-law matters such as divorce, child custody, and financial support. Associates have the opportunity to develop litigation skills and serve as first chair early in their careers. The firm describes its setting as remote-first, with office space available and in-person attendance as required by courts and clients. The Associate Attorney billable-hours requirement is 100 hours per month. Work from anywhere is available after six months. The Resident salary is $83,200. The Associate Attorney starting base salary is $135,000, with total possible annual earnings of $159,000. The stated salary range is $83,200–$159,000; actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
