Resident Assistant-Troy
About The Position
As a Resident Assistant at American House, you will support seniors’ daily care needs, enrich their lives, and help them maintain dignity, comfort, and independence. You will build meaningful relationships with residents while supporting community activities and helping create a safe, warm, and welcoming environment. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, following individualized care plans, observing and reporting changes in residents’ conditions, and providing practical support with meals, hydration, mobility, and light housekeeping. Requirements
- A passion for serving seniors and a compassionate, patient approach.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Previous caregiving, senior living, or healthcare experience required.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25–50 lbs as needed for resident care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and report observations to leadership.
- Encourage resident participation in activities, programs, and social events.
- Follow individualized care plans to provide high-quality, person-centered care.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized resident apartments and common areas.
- Support residents with meals, hydration, and light housekeeping.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
- Support new resident orientation and help residents feel welcome in the community.
