About The Position

As a Resident Assistant (RA) at American House, you will support seniors, enrich their lives, and help them live with dignity, comfort, and independence. You will assist with daily care needs, support community activities, and contribute to a safe, warm, and welcoming environment. The role involves building meaningful relationships with residents and supporting their individual care plans.

Requirements

• A passion for serving seniors and a compassionate, patient approach.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Previous caregiving, senior living, or healthcare experience is required.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25–50 lbs as needed for resident care.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report observations to leadership.
• Encourage resident engagement in activities, programs, and social events.
• Follow individualized care plans to provide high-quality, person-centered care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in resident apartments and common areas.
• Support residents with meals, hydration, and light housekeeping.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• Support new resident orientation and help new residents feel welcome in the community.
