About The Position

The Resident Assistant (RA) serves as the frontline residential operations professional responsible for maintaining safety, structure, accountability, and operational continuity within Providence House. This position ensures proper room turnover readiness, accurate meal monitoring, consistent building walkthroughs, and detailed documentation to support compliance and quality assurance. The RA plays a critical role in reinforcing program expectations and maintaining a stable environment that promotes resident success and housing readiness. All Providence House employees are expected to embody the organization’s mission — to move families from homelessness to independence — and demonstrate the core values of compassion, accountability, excellence, and collaboration in all aspects of their work.

  • Must be able to provide trauma-informed redirection and conflict resolution.
  • Must be able to communicate concerns to Case Managers and leadership promptly.
  • Must be able to complete comprehensive shift reports before shift conclusion.
  • Must be able to document incidents, safety concerns, inspections, and resident interactions.
  • Must be able to ensure continuity of care through detailed cross-shift communication.
  • Must be able to maintain audit-ready documentation at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and document scheduled building walkthroughs each shift.
  • Ensure room turnovers are completed within 24 hours and meet readiness standards.
  • Monitor safety conditions and address environmental concerns immediately.
  • Track and document meal distribution accurately during assigned meal times.
  • Submit maintenance requests promptly to preserve facility standards.
  • Reinforce residential guidelines and program participation expectations.
  • Monitor chore completion and resident compliance with assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide trauma-informed redirection and conflict resolution.
  • Communicate concerns to Case Managers and leadership promptly.
