About The Position

The Resident Assistant provides hands-on physical and emotional care to residents in accordance with each resident’s service agreement. The role communicates effectively with residents and families and notifies the case manager of changes in residents’ conditions or other concerns. The Resident Assistant also assists in the dining room and participates in activities and outings. The position is part-time, non-benefit (PTNB), with every-other-weekend AM/PM hours at The Glenn Hopkins. The listed pay range is $16.00–$24.50.

Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in residents’ best interests.

Nice To Haves

Six months of experience in long-term care or an assisted living residence.
Registration as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aid, or Certified Nursing Assistant.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living as indicated in their individualized service agreements.
Help residents reach and maintain the highest possible level of performance and independence.
Provide residents with physical and emotional support.
Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse and specified in the resident’s service agreement.
Observe residents and report changes in physical or emotional condition, including changes in attitude, appetite, or weight, to the case manager.
Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
Complete required daily documentation, including the service schedule, flow sheet, and communication book.
Assist in the dining room and participate in activities and outings.
Communicate with residents and families and notify the case manager of changes in condition or concerns.
