About The Position

The Langford Retirement Community in College Station, Texas, is hiring a full-time Resident Care Assistant. The community offers independent living, assisted living, and memory support, and is certified in the Eden Alternative Registry, reflecting a commitment to person-directed care. The role works as part of a team to provide exceptional care in a household environment, encourage residents’ involvement and personal growth, support dining, and create programming that mirrors residents’ normal life activities. The schedule is 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with rotating weekends.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent is desired.
Experience with an aging population.
Knowledge of or ability to learn computer skills.

Nice To Haves

A valid Texas Certified Nurse Assistant certification is preferred.
Experience in a memory unit.

Responsibilities

Work as part of a team to create an environment that encourages resident involvement and personal growth.
Deliver exceptional care in a household environment.
Assist with the delivery of the overall dining experience and collaborative evaluation.
Assess and implement programming that mirrors residents’ normal life activities, including upkeep and management of personal living space.
Mentally and emotionally engage residents’ interests and assist them in recapturing the value of community life.
