This role develops, presents, tracks and evaluates educational programs for students in designed residential communities. It manages the daily operation of undergraduate and/or graduate residential facilities. The coordinator may hire, train, and supervise interns and graduate and undergraduate resident directors. They serve as a conduct officer for the campus, adjudicating all levels of conduct cases including suspension and expulsion from the campus. The role advises resident hall directors on proper adjudicating techniques and sanctions, and serves as the first point of contact for students' parents regarding housing situations. The coordinator may also coordinate Housing's involvement in campus life activities, serve on and chair committees to develop long range goals and strategic plans, and counsel students on mental health issues, referring and following up with residents to mental health professionals. Additionally, they serve as a liaison between faculty, academic department leadership and students. The role may coordinate renovation, repair and maintenance needs of designated residential facilities, teach a resident assistant class, and manage special projects. The coordinator performs related responsibilities as required.
