Open Rank Research Services Clinical Sciences Professional (Entry – Intermediate)
About The Position
The Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine is seeking an energetic individual for a full-time Research Services Professional for inpatient and outpatient research projects evaluating physical, emotional, and psychological recovery after critical illness and COVID-19 infection. The research group consists of multiple physician investigators, research coordinators and laboratory personnel engaging primarily in federally funded research to improve care and outcomes for hospitalized and community-based patients, including participants with Long COVID and ICU survivors returning after their illness to the Anschutz Medical Campus.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
- One (1) year clinical research or related experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
- Ability to effectively and compassionately communicate with patients, their families and healthcare providers.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and documents and maintain strict confidentiality in all HIPAA matters.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to use various computer systems and software applications.
- Ability to initiate and maintain effective lines of communication with other areas/departments/sponsors.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field.
- Two (2) years of participant-facing clinical research or related experience with investigator initiated and multi-center research studies.
- Spanish language fluency.
- Experience with REDCap, data management, and statistical software and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Participates in recruitment and selection of study participants by interviewing and documenting medical history to determine compliance with eligibility requirements.
- Ensures compliance with each study’s protocol by providing thorough review and documentation at each subject study visit.
- Provides study education and medical information to study participants to ensure understanding of proper medication dosage, administration, and disease treatment.
- Documents medical data in patient chart to capture protocol requirements.
