About The Position

The Research Field Specialist supports the research team and Advanced Agrilytics across all aspects of field research. The role includes implementing trials, collecting data, scouting in the field, and assisting with data management and evaluation. The specialist collaborates with research, agronomy, and data teams and supports regional research and processing facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, plant science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in agronomy, research, or a related field.
• Proficiency in GIS tools and data management systems.
• Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow research protocols.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to commute daily to research facilities and field sites.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in agronomy, research, or a related field.
• On-farm experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the research team and precision agronomists to identify trial site locations.
• Assist in implementing field-scale research trials across the state.
• Work with the agronomy team to collect and manage historical and current data, such as planting, as-applied, and yield data.
• Record research observations using GIS tools and technologies.
• Collect plant and/or soil samples during key growth stages according to research protocols.
• Support plant processing, data creation, and data entry activities.
• Assist the Research Operations Lead in managing regional research and processing facilities.
• Collaborate with research and data teams on analysis projects to derive actionable insights.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
