The Department of Biomedical Engineering, in collaboration with the Center for Remote Health Monitoring at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join an interdisciplinary research program focused on developing, evaluating, and implementing technology-enabled approaches to improve mobility, physical function, and musculoskeletal health. The program integrates biomechanics, artificial intelligence, digital health, behavioral science, implementation science, and human-centered design to develop scalable health solutions. Projects include movement assessment using smartphone video, markerless motion capture, wearable sensors, and machine learning; digital interventions for physical activity and musculoskeletal health; digital biomarkers of mobility and physical function; technology-enabled interventions in healthcare systems; and digital health platforms combining movement assessment, remote monitoring, and personalized behavioral support. Related collaborations include adaptive sports, healthy aging, rehabilitation, and sports performance. The fellow will contribute to ongoing research, help shape new research directions, and develop independent projects with collaborators across Wake Forest University School of Medicine and external academic, clinical, and industry partners. The role also offers an opportunity to develop an independent academic research career and contribute to a growing program translating innovative technologies into improvements in human health.
