The Gut Microbiome Laboratory, housed within the Enteric Neurosciences Program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, seeks a highly motivated, self-driven postdoctoral fellow for a collaborative, translational research team studying the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying gastrointestinal motility disorders. The program is one of the largest integrated groups of physicians and scientists studying the enteric nervous system and gastrointestinal physiology, with a history of discoveries that have shaped the field. The laboratory studies human neurogastrointestinal disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome, using an integrated approach combining physiology, advanced imaging, molecular and cellular biology, and in vivo animal models to investigate gut-microbe-host interactions. The work is published in high-impact journals and supported by NIH funding. The lab offers extensive resources, mentorship, and a collaborative environment to support trainees' career development. It is committed to a diverse, inclusive, and supportive culture that values community and recognizes scientific accomplishments and the people behind them. This position is not intended for clinical training and is not open to MD/MBBS candidates seeking clinical roles.
