About The Position

Monash University’s School of Physics and Astronomy is seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to research in reconfigurable metasurfaces and ultrafast photonics. The role involves developing a reconfigurable metasurface platform using phase-change materials and investigating temporal modulation with an ultrafast pump–probe optical system. Research will explore laser-induced phase transitions in low-loss phase-change materials and ultrafast carrier-driven modulation in semiconductor platforms, advancing approaches to dynamic photonic technologies. The position is based at the Clayton campus and is a two-year fixed-term appointment. The opportunity is advertised on the Indigenous-only applications page. The successful candidate will work with researchers in experimental photonics and have access to research facilities and collaborative networks. Monash supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
