About The Position

Join the School of Physics and Astronomy at Monash University as a Research Fellow contributing to research in reconfigurable metasurfaces and ultrafast photonics. The role involves developing a reconfigurable metasurface platform using phase-change materials and investigating its temporal modulation using an ultrafast pump–probe optical system. The research will explore laser-induced phase transitions in low-loss phase-change materials and ultrafast carrier-driven modulation in semiconductor platforms, advancing approaches to dynamic photonic technologies. The position offers the opportunity to deepen expertise at the intersection of materials science, nanophotonics and ultrafast optics, working with researchers and using Monash’s research facilities and collaborative networks. The role is based at the Clayton campus and is a two-year fixed-term appointment. Monash supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
