About The Position

The Research Database Coordinator III (RDC III) manages protocol-specific data requirements for multiple, diverse, and complex research projects while ensuring compliance with good clinical practice and federal regulations. The role supports higher patient volumes and/or more complex trials, with a comprehensive workload requiring independent work and a high level of expertise. The coordinator reviews and synthesizes medical records—including clinic notes, pathology and radiology reports, and patient questionnaires—to extract data for industry, cooperative, and investigator-initiated trials according to assigned protocols. This is the third level in the data coordinator career path. In this senior role, the coordinator works autonomously with coordinators and study monitors, resolves data queries without routine guidance, and assists with completing source documents. The position works independently under minimal supervision from a manager or supervisor. The coordinator must understand the implications of the work, recommend solutions, maintain confidentiality and subject-data security, and meet established competency guidelines annually. The role also includes training other data coordinators.
