About The Position

Our software makes purchase intent measurable even before a product comes to market. We test new product concepts, prices, and value propositions in realistic purchasing situations and measure who would actually buy. Product, pricing, innovation, and insights teams at leading European companies use this to decide what to include in their product portfolio and what not. We are on a growth course, especially with our existing customers: leading insurers, energy providers, retailers, and consumer brands. Many work permanently with Horizon, securing their product decisions. This constantly creates new flights (that's what we call our tests), new teams, and new questions. We are early-stage, so on the one hand, you have the opportunity to work entrepreneurially and actively build the company. On the other hand, your work influences the most important product decisions of large companies. As a Research Consultant, you don't just implement what the customer orders. You tell them what they should test next, and why. Your goal for the first twelve months: Halve the time from kick-off to results call without losing quality.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in demanding customer-facing B2B roles, such as consulting, venture development, an innovation unit, market research, or an agency. You have been responsible for your own projects with clients and not just supported them.
  • You lead customers. Your clients call you before they make a product decision, not after.
  • You recommend next steps. You have experienced how a good recommendation leads to a follow-up project, and you actively pursue this.
  • Empathy. The organizations we work with are complex, with multiple stakeholders and perspectives. You recognize who decides in the room, who brings which perspective, and who needs to carry your results internally, and you tailor your approach accordingly.
  • Presence in the room. You can convey test setups and results to a data analyst just as precisely as to a department head or a board member, so that everyone can work with them effectively.
  • Affinity for market research and campaigns. You don't have to be a pure statistics or performance marketing expert. But the subject must interest you and suit you: reading and interpreting quantitative data, and being able to work operationally with tools like Meta Ads Manager or Google Ads. Enough to manage delivery independently.
  • Advanced AI User. You don't just use AI for chatting, you build with it: skills, workflows, automations, and artifacts that deliver a task or sub-step largely complete. You can show us what you've built. We are not looking for beginners in this area.
  • Language: Native level German, near-fluent English.

Nice To Haves

  • Depending on experience, you will start as a Research Consultant or Senior Research Consultant.
  • You have never had anything to do with market research and have no interest in it.
  • You prefer to stay behind the data rather than stand in front of the customer.
  • You see consulting and sales as two separate jobs.
  • You need micromanagement to get started.
  • You feel uncomfortable when you have to defend your position against the customer's intuition.
  • You prefer to work in a finished process rather than help build it.
  • You work freelance and want to keep it that way.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Horizon to the decision-makers of our existing customers: sharpen the question the flight should answer, even if it's initially posed differently, qualify the requirements, and manage expectations about what a flight can realistically deliver.
  • At the end of a flight, turn the numbers into decision proposals: What does the result say about the product, the value proposition, and the price, and what are the implications?
  • Present your recommendation in the results call so that decision-makers can work with it, especially if the flight shows something different than expected.
  • After each flight, actively recommend the next one, clearly derived from the result, and work with the customer team to get it commissioned.
  • Work closely with account management, which opens up new teams at the customer and is responsible for renewals.
  • Conceive the flight: research question, test architecture, variants, isolated variable, target group, channel, sample, budget, field time, and pre-defined decision and termination criteria.
  • Build all assets with your team colleagues: ads for audience acquisition, landing pages, product content, and the exit journey.
  • Be responsible for campaign setup, QA, and go-live, and keep an eye on every ongoing flight.
  • Conduct multiple flights in parallel through different phases, adhere to approvals and content freeze with the customer, orchestrate project teams and customer stakeholders, and identify delivery risks before they become problems.
  • Evaluate (conversion rates, effect size, significance, CPC, benchmarks), clearly state uncertainty, and build the results presentation.
  • Automate the operational implementation of a flight, including ad setup, QA, evaluation, and deck building. The goal is to standardize flights to such an extent that they can be developed and set up fully automatically with a human in the loop.
  • Contribute your research logic to our next generation of software, where an AI agent prepares flights and you approve at crucial points.
  • Expand our offering, including new test channels and consulting formats.

Benefits

  • Direct work with our Co-Founder & CEO Daniel (LinkedIn): short paths, fast learning.
  • Close collaboration with and unique insights from key individuals at large companies.
  • Honest, constructive, transparent feedback in both directions.
  • Years of flight delivery as a blueprint: templates, benchmarks, and experience values that you can access from day one.
  • Premium subscription for Claude and AI-first throughout the company.
  • We provide the infrastructure so that your time goes into the core of your role: consulting your clients.
  • The hardware you need for the job.
