In the Geramita lab, this role supports research into how early-life trauma may predispose individuals to depression. The lab studies how early-life stress in rodents affects the development of corticostriatal circuits and causes anhedonia, with the goal of identifying potential treatment targets that can be translated to the clinic. The position is grant funded. The ideal candidate has a strong neuroscience background, experience working with rodents, and coding proficiency. The role also involves overseeing the mouse colony, managing rodent stress protocols, performing experiments and data analysis, and supporting day-to-day lab functions.
