About The Position

Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs is seeking a Clinician to provide case management and ongoing clinical services to Res Ed students and their families at Walker’s Needham Campus. This role involves providing clinical consultation to direct care and educational staff, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and managing discharge planning for assigned youth. The Clinician must be committed to child-centered, family-focused, culturally competent care and strengths-based treatment. The position operates under the guidance of Res Ed clinical leadership to ensure all clinical services align with the agency mission and core values, emphasizing trauma-informed, relationship-based, family-involved, developmentally focused, competence-centered, and ecologically oriented services. The role requires the use of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling).
  • Clinical licensure (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT).
  • Must be able to successfully pass and apply Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training.
  • Must be able to successfully complete First Aid/CPR training.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make safe decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn, retain, and apply principles taught in training and supervision.
  • Physical stamina to participate in activities with children.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods, perform frequent bending, stooping, stretching, lifting (up to 10 lbs.), sitting, stairs, typing, and looking at a computer screen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer experience is required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through with multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team, including during times of high stress.
  • Ability to transport clients in company vehicles.
  • Obtain Elementary Education and Care (EEC) background check suitability.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Valid MA driver’s license preferred.

  • Experience with goal-oriented clinical work with youth and families.
  • Experience with the use of evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Experience with work with youth in a similar setting.
  • Bilingual capabilities are preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of up to 12 students, providing individual and family therapy as needed.
  • Complete ongoing written assessments and documentation in a timely manner, including treatment plans, IEPs, and discharge summaries.
  • Interface with outside systems including DCF, DMH, LEAs, and CBHI providers, maintaining consistent communication and documenting all contact.
  • Coordinate and facilitate treatment meetings for students on caseload.
  • Work collaboratively with the Res Ed team to develop and implement clinical services to students in the milieu, including conducting groups.
  • Provide clinical consultation to direct care staff, crisis support to youth, and coverage on the floor as needed.
  • Participate in required trainings and additional professional development opportunities.
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings.
  • Serve as Clinician On-Call for the campus on a rotating basis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
