About The Position

This role involves taking orders via email and phone, verifying and entering items, transferring orders for processing, and explaining stockouts and expected delivery dates. The representative will also increase orders by suggesting related items, explaining features, and reviewing customer purchase history. They will own, qualify, and develop opportunities passed from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts. The position requires identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement, preparing, generating, and following up on quotes to secure orders or understand reasons for lost orders. Additionally, the role involves reviewing customer open order reports, taking action on unliquidated items, and maintaining the open order report, customer acceleration notices, and customer notifications. The representative will also report industry trends, competitive pricing, and customer feedback to management.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge and experience in sales and sales administration; allows for the acquisition of higher-level knowledge and skills, even though the professional employee is fully competent and productive (2 to 3 years).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and ability to perform basic computer tasks.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to prospect and market concepts to existing and potentially new accounts.
  • Ability to take action and solve a range of problems that may be difficult, but are generally not complex.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities
