About The Position

The Rental Shop Technician outfits guests with rental gear, including boots, skis, snowboards, and helmets, and adjusts bindings to the appropriate specifications. This is a seasonal position that starts in December and runs through March and into April. The technician also maintains and tests rental equipment, helps keep the shop clean, and assists with clearing snow and ice from rental shop entrances.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Ability to take direction and perform duties efficiently.
Ability to communicate clearly and politely with guests.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Professional, positive, and enthusiastic attitude.
Good interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct guests through the rental process and answer related questions.
Properly outfit guests with rental gear for skiing or snowboarding.
Become certified to set up rental ski bindings for guest use.
Perform routine maintenance on the rental equipment fleet.
Test rental fleet equipment to ensure it meets industry standards, as directed by the Manager and Assistant Manager.
Learn to tune snowsports equipment and tune rental fleet equipment as well as personal equipment.
Inspect and put away returned rental equipment at the end of the day.
Spray returned boots with boot-fresh.
Maintain rental shop cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors.
Help the Facilities Department keep rental shop entrances clear of snow and ice.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
