About The Position

The Rental PM Field Tech I provides high-quality repair service on equipment to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed. The role performs preventive maintenance services and minor repairs on a broad range of rental equipment in both the field and shop, and requires customer communication, accurate quoting, service documentation, and use of required databases. This safety-sensitive position requires travel up to 40%.

Requirements

General knowledge of diesel or gas engines and electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems and components.
General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software, cranes, and rigging equipment.
Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software, and order processing systems.
Clean driving record and a CDL, or ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days of employment.
Must be at least 21 years old to be assigned and operate a field vehicle.
Successfully complete the Work Steps assessment.

Responsibilities

Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat-rate times and re-do metrics.
Provide repair recommendations and perform minor service repairs in both the field and shop.
Complete related paperwork and use required databases to finish jobs accurately and on time.
Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
Provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to customers.
Complete and submit accurate, timely service reports and DOT logs.
Perform required preventive maintenance services across a broad range of rental equipment in both the field and shop.
Communicate effectively with customers and coordinate preventive maintenance service schedules to meet customer needs.
