About The Position

The Rental Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the rental department. The role focuses on maximizing sales, maintaining equipment, coordinating rentals and deliveries, ordering repair parts, and providing outstanding customer service. The Rental Manager represents T & M Hardware & Rental in keeping with company values and helps build an efficient, motivated, and productive sales team. The position also involves supervising employees, maintaining safe and orderly operations, and supporting customer confidence in safely operating rental equipment. The role’s goals include growing sales while reducing expenses, building a strong retail team, and expanding knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and pricing strategies.

Strong math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
Knowledge of effective sales methods and techniques.
Ability to efficiently operate the store’s point-of-sale system.
Knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Model excellent customer service and assist customers when needed.
Oversee the daily opening and closing of the rental department.
Supervise equipment maintenance and repair management.
Help customers feel confident in their ability to operate equipment safely.
Respond promptly to customer complaints and resolve them as effectively as possible.
Maintain rental equipment according to company and manufacturer specifications.
Coordinate rental deliveries, pickups, and movement of equipment between stores.
Keep equipment clean and organized and maintain rental-rate signage.
Keep the rental department clean and orderly.
Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with store policies and safety standards.
Protect equipment and store property against internal and external loss, taking action according to store policy.
Drive company growth by increasing sales and reducing expenses.
Build a strong team of motivated and productive retail associates.
Expand knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management and pricing strategies.
