About The Position

The Rental Branch Manager directs all activities of a single store location and is responsible for its profit and loss. In coordination with the Regional Rental Manager, the manager establishes sales and profitability goals, manages appropriate fleet levels, leads branch employees, promotes a strong safety culture, and establishes systems to control branch expenses. The role oversees rental equipment operations, employee recruitment and development, sales strategies, pricing, customer service, market share growth, financial reporting, and budget preparation. It also involves ensuring regulatory and safety compliance and supporting equipment demonstrations and technical matters.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of successful business management experience at a branch or other individual profit center, including profit and loss responsibility.
At least 5 years of business management and/or operational management experience with increasingly progressive job scope and responsibilities.
At least 3 years of retail or store management experience in the construction equipment rental industry.
At least 1 year of supervisory experience and demonstrated sales and customer service success.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
Effective leadership, motivational, organizational, and communication skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English.
Knowledge of business accounting principles, budget preparation, and strong business acumen.
Excellent presentation skills before small and large groups.
Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
Results-oriented, with business development and KPI focus to meet corporate targets.
Strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment and the rental industry.
Ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels and with customer operations.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Direct all activities and operations of a single rental branch and manage its profit and loss.
Establish sales and profitability goals in coordination with the Regional Rental Manager.
Manage appropriate equipment fleet levels and control branch expenses.
Establish and maintain safety standards for audits, training, regulatory compliance, drug and alcohol testing, and equipment maintenance.
Recruit, train, develop, and retain qualified employees; communicate job expectations and foster strong performance.
Work with the regional manager on sales training, market understanding, and sales strategies to achieve revenue goals.
Set competitive pricing based on market conditions, product availability, and product quality.
Promote a customer-focused approach to sales and service.
Review product offerings and develop profitable market share growth and financial performance.
Ensure accurate financial reporting and prepare budgets.
Coach and mentor branch personnel.
Manage branch operations and personnel.
Assist with equipment demonstrations and provide technical support.
Lead sales and marketing initiatives, market share growth, and customer retention.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
