Vetco, a division of Petco, is seeking independent veterinary contractors to provide relief veterinary care at Vetco Vaccination Clinics and Vetco Total Care Hospitals. Veterinarians choose their own shifts through flexible online booking, with no minimum or maximum number of shifts, and set their rate for each selected shift. Weekday and weekend hours are available. Veterinarians may continue other practice activities outside their Vetco shifts, and Vetco does not charge agency fees. Vetco Vaccination Clinics provide wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations and medications, heartworm testing, and microchip insertion. They do not provide surgeries, emergency care, or sick visits. Trained staff handle clinic operations, transactions, and assistance with safely restraining pets. Clinics are located inside Petco retail locations. Vetco Total Care Hospital relief shifts include preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. Veterinarians coordinate with the area medical director before shifts to review case comfort levels. Hospitals have digital patient records, a surgical suite, Butterfly IQ+ handheld ultrasound imaging, digital and dental X-ray, Vetology Radiograph Interpretation AI, and on-site labs. Hospital shifts do not include overnight work or emergency on-call duties. Both settings use appointment-based models to help manage patient traffic and support timely completion of shifts. Experienced, trained staff support operations so veterinarians can focus on patient care. Vetco also provides a monthly newsletter with policy, product, and clinic updates. Colorado state bid rates average $89.00–$112.00 per hour; rates may vary by clinic location and shift duration.
