About The Position

Vetco, a division of Petco, is seeking independent veterinary contractors to provide relief veterinarian services. Vetco provides a supportive environment with trained staff to manage operations, allowing you to focus on patient care. The company offers two types of practice settings: Vetco Vaccination Clinics, which focus on wellness exams, vaccinations, and preventive medications, and Vetco Total Care Hospitals, which handle preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. Both settings utilize an appointment-based model to manage patient flow and ensure timely departures.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing.
Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions, including the ability to perform blood draws and administer vaccines.
DEA in good standing preferred for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts.
Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy.
Compliance with all local, state, and federal mandates.

Responsibilities

Perform wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations, and administer medications at Vetco Vaccination Clinics.
Conduct preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures at Vetco Total Care Hospitals.
Partner with the area medical director to review case comfort levels before shifts at Vetco Total Care Hospitals.
Deliver high-quality veterinary care and patient experience.
Utilize digital patient records, surgical suites, ultrasound imaging, digital and dental X-ray, and on-site labs at Vetco Total Care Hospitals.
