About The Position

Vetco, a division of Petco, is seeking independent veterinary contractors to provide relief veterinarian services. There are two types of relief shifts available: Vetco Vaccination Clinics, which focus on preventive care, and Vetco Total Care Hospitals, which offer a broader range of services including diagnostics, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing.
Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions, including the ability to perform blood draws and administer vaccines.
Ability to provide Professional Liability Insurance + license defense policy.
DEA in good standing preferred for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Butterfly IQ+ handheld ultrasound imaging.
Familiarity with Vetology Radiograph Interpretation AI.

Responsibilities

Provide wellness examinations, preventive vaccinations, and medications at Vetco Vaccination Clinics.
Perform heartworm testing and microchip insertion at Vetco Vaccination Clinics.
Conduct preventive care and diagnostic workups at Vetco Total Care Hospitals.
Perform outpatient surgeries and dental procedures at Vetco Total Care Hospitals.
Partner with the area medical director to review case comfort levels before shifts at Vetco Total Care Hospitals.
Deliver the best care and patient experience possible.
Comply with all local, state, and federal mandates.
