About The Position

The Relationship Banker I provides an exceptional customer experience on the cash line and by phone, processes customer transactions, identifies ways to meet customer needs, and helps resolve customer service inquiries. The role is suited to candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who want to begin a banking career with opportunities for growth and development. The successful candidate is ambitious and adaptable, communicates effectively, and provides personalized service while educating customers about ways to bank when, where, and how they want. This position is based at the Gonzales branch in Gonzales, Louisiana. It is full-time, eligible for overtime for hours worked over 40 per week, and eligible for a formulaic incentive plan. The target pay range provided is $37,621.05 to $44,536.00; actual pay may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location, and performance.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions.
Ability to communicate in person, by phone, and through electronic channels.
Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and maintaining sustained attention to a monitor.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ability to assist customers with digital banking offerings.
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to oversee large sums of cash.
Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

Provide a consistent customer experience on the cash line while handling deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other typical teller transactions.
Answer customer questions about products and services and fulfill basic servicing requests, including card requests, information changes, PIN resets, check reorders, and basic problem resolution.
Develop customer relationships and stay informed about customers’ relationships with the bank.
Educate customers on standard consumer products and digital banking solutions, including mobile, online, and ATM offerings.
Assist branch and fellow team members with basic tasks to resolve customer problems.
Refer customers to internal experts when more complex financial goals and needs are identified.
Follow bank processes and procedures and applicable laws and regulations, complete duties assigned by the Branch Manager, and help ensure sound banking practices by managing, identifying, and reporting operational risks.
Contribute to branch targets and goals by identifying customer needs and providing guidance on Regions’ solutions.
May make outbound calls to customers and prospects using generated lead lists to explain emerging technology and assist with financial needs.
