About The Position

The Relationship Banker I provides an exceptional customer experience on the cash line and by phone while helping improve customers’ financial wellness. The role builds personal connections during transactions, identifies ways Regions can meet customer needs, and helps resolve customer service inquiries from start to finish. It is suited to candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who want opportunities for career growth and development. The successful candidate is ambitious and adaptable, communicates effectively, and provides personalized service while educating customers about ways to bank when, where, and how they choose. The position is full-time, based at the Gonzales branch in Gonzales, Louisiana, and is incentive eligible. It is eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act; time worked in excess of 40 hours per week must be tracked.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions.
Ability to communicate in person, by phone, and through electronic channels.
Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and maintaining sustained attention to a monitor.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ability to assist customers with digital banking offerings.
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to oversee large sums of cash.
Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

Provide an optimal customer experience on the cash line while processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other typical teller transactions.
Answer customer inquiries about products and services and fulfill basic servicing requests, including card requests, information changes, PIN resets, check reorders, and basic problem resolution.
Develop customer relationships and stay informed about customers’ relationships with the bank.
Educate customers about standard consumer products and digital solutions, including mobile, online, and ATM offerings.
Assist branch and team members with basic tasks to resolve customer problems.
Refer customers to internal experts when complex financial goals or needs are identified.
Follow bank processes and procedures and applicable laws and regulations, completing duties assigned or delegated by the Branch Manager.
Support sound banking practices by managing, identifying, and reporting operational risks.
Help achieve branch targets and goals by identifying customer needs and providing appropriate guidance about Regions’ solutions.
May make outbound calls from generated customer and prospect lead lists to educate customers on emerging technology and assist with their financial needs.
