About The Position

The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician I supports rehabilitation therapists and helps deliver patient care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The role contributes to therapy activities and patient safety, communicates with patients, families, and caregivers, and works closely with therapists, nurses, and the broader healthcare team. Duties include preparing and transporting patients according to the schedule and communicating observations and outcomes of patient care activities to therapists. The position is part of Encompass Health, a national post-acute care provider with more than 150 locations and a team of 36,000 people.

Requirements

• Completion of the elements required for clinical ladder Rehab Tech I, or equivalent training in school or on the job.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred, unless hospital policy requires otherwise.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support therapists’ daily patient care and therapy activities.
• Facilitate effective communication with patients, families, and caregivers.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain patient safety and deliver patient-centered treatment.
• Prepare and transport patients according to the patient schedule.
• Communicate observations and outcomes of patient care activities to therapists.
• Set up equipment and maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate closely with therapists and nurses.
