About The Position

Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides specialized care for patients with complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury, as well as physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care at five locations. The institute also has a home health team, long-term care resources at Memorial Manor, and pediatric developmental therapy through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

The Rehabilitation Technician provides patient care and clerical support to clinical staff. The role assists with patient movement and preparation for therapy, helps during treatment sessions under the therapist’s direct supervision, and maintains a clean, safe, and organized treatment area. Office support duties include inventory maintenance, temperature logs, stocking, filing, scheduling, and answering phones.

The work requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. No prior work experience is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with an accepted BLS credential or applicable employee grace period.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS credential from the American Heart Association or Red Cross, or an applicable employee grace period for the essential credential.
• Critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with moving, supporting, lifting, and transporting patients before, during, and after therapy.
• Maintain the treatment area in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Clean and maintain therapy equipment and supplies.
• Assist clinical staff with preparing patients for therapy.
• Perform office support functions, including inventory maintenance, temperature logs, stocking, filing, scheduling, and answering phones.
• Assist during treatment sessions under the direct supervision of the therapist.
