About The Position
Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides specialized care for patients with complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury, as well as physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care at five locations. The institute also has a home health team, long-term care resources at Memorial Manor, and pediatric therapy through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. The Rehabilitation Technician provides patient care and clerical support as needed to support clinical staff. The role assists patients and therapists during therapy, helps maintain a clean and safe treatment area, and performs office support functions. This per-diem position is based in Hollywood, Florida.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills, communicate effectively, exercise decisive judgment, and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross, or an approved grace-period credential.
Responsibilities
- Assist clinical staff with preparing patients for therapy.
- Maintain the treatment area in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Clean and maintain therapy equipment and supplies.
- Assist with the movement, support, lifting, and transport of patients before, during, and after therapy.
- Assist during treatment sessions under the direct supervision of the therapist.
- Perform office support functions, including inventory maintenance, temperature logs, stocking, filing, scheduling, and answering phones.
