About The Position

The Rehabilitation Technician I supports individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and spinal cord injuries (SCI) as they rebuild strength, independence, and quality of life after hospitalization. The role provides hands-on assistance with daily living activities, hygiene care, community involvement, and therapeutic goals. Technicians help clients make progress, promote healthy habits, and build supportive relationships while fostering greater independence.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to pass background checks and fingerprints.
Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

Assist physical, occupational, and speech therapists with patient treatment sessions and skills practice.
Support patients with mobility, walking, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
Reinforce therapy goals through cognitive activities, therapy homework, and transitional programming.
Help facilitate therapy groups and assist patients with adaptive equipment, including wheelchairs and shower chairs.
Work with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to enhance patient outcomes and program effectiveness.
Build positive relationships with patients and encourage independence.
Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
