About The Position

The Rehabilitation Technician I supports individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and spinal cord injuries (SCI) as they rebuild strength, independence, and quality of life after hospitalization. The role provides hands-on assistance with daily living activities, hygiene care, community involvement, and therapeutic goals, while building supportive relationships and encouraging progress toward greater independence.

Requirements

• Hold a valid driver's license.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Pass background checks and fingerprinting.
• Be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Be compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Have strong communication skills and the ability to build trust.
• Be adaptable, patient, and resilient.
• Have a person-centered mindset and respect individual differences.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Health care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical, occupational, and speech therapists with patient treatment sessions and skills practice.
• Support patients with mobility, walking, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
• Reinforce therapy goals through cognitive activities, therapy homework, and transitional programming.
• Help facilitate therapy groups and assist patients with adaptive equipment, including wheelchairs and shower chairs.
• Work with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to enhance patient outcomes and program effectiveness.
• Build positive relationships and encourage independence.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
