About The Position

IU Health is hiring a Rehabilitation Services Technician at West Hospital in Avon, Indiana. The role performs routine patient care tasks under the direct supervision of clinicians and supports safe patient mobility and positioning. The technician also helps maintain treatment areas, equipment, and department supplies and may assist with scheduling, customer service, and clerical duties. Rehabilitation Technicians may transport medications to or from the patient treatment room for patient treatment.

The schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays, working 12-hour shifts, with no weekends or holidays. IU Health describes opportunities for professional growth and offers a benefits package, PTO program, 401(k) match, and other programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification through the AHA within 6 months of hire.
• Successfully complete the rehabilitation technician training program within 3 months of hire.
• Familiarity with patient lifting and handling procedures required.

Nice To Haves

• 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required depending on unit or department specialty and patient care policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform designated routine patient care tasks under the direct supervision of clinicians.
• Assist clinicians with safe patient mobility and positioning as needed.
• Maintain and clean treatment areas and equipment.
• Participate in department operational activities and required performance improvement activities.
• Participate in infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety, and fire safety programs.
• Order, distribute, and maintain appropriate inventory of department-related supplies.
• May perform scheduling, customer service, and clerical duties.
• May transport medications to or from the patient treatment room for patient treatment.
